Neymar`s time with Al Hilal appears to be coming to an end, and there is a lot of speculation about his future.
When Al Hilal`s coach, Jorge Jesus, stated last Thursday that Neymar would not be playing for the team for very long, the Brazilian star`s future seemed all but assured.
Due to injuries, Neymar has not been registered to play for the remainder of the league, despite the fact that his contract is valid until the end of the current campaign.
Jesus indicated that Neymar is no longer a part of the team`s future plans when he stated that his physical condition prevents him from performing at the level he once did.
Fans and experts are now skeptical about Neymar`s future plans after he leaves Saudi Arabia.
Two main options are being talked about: a return to Brazil or following in his close friend Lionel Messi’s footsteps and joining a Major League Soccer (MLS) club.
Neymar has been linked to several MLS teams, with Inter Miami—Messi`s current team—being one of the front-runners.
But could we see Messi, Neymar, and Suarez reunited in Miami?
Neymar has made one thing clear, he’ll only consider joining Inter Miami if he gets paid more than Messi.
According to the French newspaper L`Equipe, Neymar’s father has already met with MLS officials and laid down this condition.
L`Equipe reported that Neymar’s dad mentioned this requirement in talks with MLS executives.
As per the MLS Players Association, Messi`s annual salary at Inter Miami is around $20.4 million.
However, Neymar currently earns over $107 million a year at Al Hilal, which is nearly five times Messi`s wage.
But Messi`s earnings at Miami come from more than simply the salary he receives.
He also makes a lot of money from other sources, including as performance bonuses, large deals with businesses like Apple and Adidas, and ownership stakes in the club.
So, even though Messi`s salary might be lower, he’s doing just fine with the extra earnings he gets from those deals.
But if Neymar joins Miami for less than Messi`s salary, the question arises—who will make up the difference for him?
This makes it look almost impossible that Neymar would join Miami for a lower salary than Messi.
Another thing to think about is whether Inter Miami can afford to pay Neymar more than Messi.
Many of Messi’s former Barcelona teammates have joined him in Miami, including Sergio Busquets, who earns around $9 million per year.
Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba, on the other hand, make about $1.5 million each.
With all these salary commitments, it remains to be seen if Inter Miami will be able to meet Neymar’s demand and bring back the iconic MSN trio (Messi, Suarez, Neymar).
This is a situation that soccer fans will be watching closely!
